New Projects

As soon as I finished CdC, I started Long Dog’s Paradigm Lost.  Everyone needs a giant project, right?  Here is what I have so far:

I am using 35 count linen and premium Indigo Ocean, both from Vikki Clayton.  The pic is really dark, even though I took it by the window.  With the flash on, this pic made the silk way too bright:

Anyway, trust me, its looking pretty good so far.

I also started a project for Mandy & Mark.  I’ll post a pic in a bit and password protect it, so I don’t ruin the surprise.  Its another Vikki silk project and I love the color I picked.  I hope M&M like it too.  :)

In other news, the hydrangeas finally bloomed!  I couldn’t resist and I picked these:

I picked them on the 13th and they are still looking great!  They must really like being inside with the AC on.  :)

Ayame:  Momom… Seeko!

Me:  No, that’s a SQUARE

Ayame: SEEKO!!!

Me: No, it’s a square.  Say, Skwaaair

Ayame: NO!  SEEKO!!!!

Me:  SQUARE!

Ayame:  Outside?

We go outside and she grabs a leaf.

Ayame:  Momom, TREE!

Me:  No, that’s called leaf.  A tree has lots of leaves.

Forehead crinkles and eyebrows become one and looks at me like I’m crazy.

Ayame:  BALL!!!

Me:  That’s right.  That’s a ball.  Good girl!

Woooohooooo!!!

Cirque des Cercles is DONE!!!

It used up just over 3 skeins of premium and over 7 skeins of regular HDF Midnight Rainbow.  This project was started on January 23, 2009.  It was stitched on 28 count white opalescent Lugana, 1over 2.  See all the progress pics here.

Time Flies Way Too Freaking Fast

Where did my baby go?  This was her last year, looking teeny tiny in her car seat.  This year?  She’s gonna need a new car seat/booster.  Her shoulders are almost past the highest position for the shoulder straps.  *sob sob*

And Reeve last year?  He looked a little like this:

That pic was taken on July 20th.  He was just a little alien in my belly.  Now he’s crawling all over the place, shoving everything in his mouth and whatever he can’t put in his mouth gets drowned in drool.

I love freebies! Don’t you?

Happy Dance!

I just finished #16 for the year.  But its a model, so no pics yet.  :)  I had so much fun working on it.  I have definitely slowed down a lot.  Kids distract me.  Old age has given me aches, tiring my arm much faster.  Also, stitcher’s ADD has affected me a lot.  Can’t finish things quickly if I’m jumping from one project to another in one day, heck in one hour.

In other news, the sun has been lured somewhere far, far away.  It did make a brief appearance over the weekend.  We took the kiddie pool outside on Saturday and I got in there with Ayame.  No pics on that day.  The next day, it was still sunny and a certain little girl wanted to go out and expressed this desire by grabbing Daddy’s shoes and dropping them next to him on the couch.  Ahem, ahem.  It’s time to go out now.

Ayame didn’t go IN the pool on Sunday, but she did run around and splashed the water a lot.  Reeve got in and LOVED it.  He wanted to taste the water and touch the bottom!  Ack!  Had to grab him fast after that one.  And because it wasn’t wet enough, he licked as much of the pool as he can.  As predicted, he also tried to eat the grass.  Oy.

In AWESOME news, I heard from my sister.  She is doing well and has moved in with her boyfriend.  I’m so happy that she’s so happy.

Christmas in June

The kids and I celebrated Christmas in June.  My parents sent them presents and we also got prezzies from my friend E in NYC.  w00t w00t!

From Lolo and Lola, Ayame got lots of new clothes, a new toothbrush and lots of dried mangoes.

Reeve also got clothes and new shoes.  He thinks they’re yummy.

E mailed us a Hello Kitty box of goodies!

Ayame loves her little lunch box and has nicknamed it, “Batsy”.

Thanks for all the comments!  I get so excited when I get them.  :)  I highly recommend Subversive Cross Stitch.  Dani, you need to make a bunch for Todd!  DH’s cube is already a gallery with all the stuff I’ve stitched for him this year.  :)

In sad news, my sister left home.  We have no idea where she is.  I tried to send messages to her friends on FB, but after about 12 messages, I got a warning saying that my activities are bordering on spamming.  Fail FB.
